Frequently Asked Questions

Will the 2020 Convention still be held in Nashville?

No. Due to social distancing practices and safety precautions, plus travel restrictions still in place in many parts of the world, there will be no sessions or events held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville.

Will a virtual event take place?

We recognize the value of International Convention and understand the benefits it offers our membership. A virtual Convention experience is planned for Friday evening, July 24, and Saturday morning, July 25. A banner will be available on theConnection starting July 20 linking you directly to the live streaming page. Registration for the virtual event will be open from June 15 - July 22. If you had previously registered for the Convention in Nashville, you do not need to do anything.

Note - a future date is being determined by the International Cabinet for the Business Session and Elections.

Should I cancel my hotel reservation?

If you made a reservation at Opryland Hotel or Inn at Opryland, your reservation will be automatically cancelled, and your deposit will be reimbursed. We’re communicating frequently with both properties to ensure reservations and refunds are processed in a timely manner. If you do not see a refund on the credit card you used to make your reservation by the end of June, please e-mail convention@gideons.org.

Do I need to cancel my convention registration?

No, please do not cancel your registration.

Will I be reimbursed for my tickets I purchased?

Refunds for meal tickets and youth activities are currently being processed. Please allow 5-7 business days to see the funds in your account. All refunds will be processed to the original form of payment.

If I purchased a copy of Witness to History, will I still receive it?

Yes, if you reserved and paid for Witness to History, you will receive your order by August 1, 2020. If you have a “balance due” on your account and did not process payment, you will receive an e-mail prompting you to process your payment by June 19, 2020, to receive the pre-sale rate and receive your order by August 1, 2020. Orders with a balance due after June 19 will be cancelled.

Instead of refunding me, can you put my payment towards the Faith Fund?

All ticket sales will be refunded to the original form of payment. You are welcome to take these refunds and donate them through the appropriate channels to the Faith Fund.

Will the Nashville Convention be rescheduled?

We are hopeful we will be able to host the International Convention in Nashville in the future.

I was scheduled for a tour of the International Headquarters. Are those still happening?

No, at this time the International Headquarters building is not open for tours or drop-ins. The staff is working remotely until the local government deems it safe to resume normal activities. We do hope you will visit us and our new Heritage Center when the building is open in the future!
